The My Incredible World Story
My Incredible World is a family-owned children's book company created by husband-and-wife team Bill and Hope Aicher in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area.
Our story began with our youngest son, whose early childhood included significant medical challenges. During that time, animals were one of the things that consistently captured his attention, sparked his curiosity, and brought him joy.
One day, he wanted a book about roosters. We searched for one that combined interesting facts with great real-world photography, but we couldn't find exactly what we were looking for.
So we made one ourselves.
Then we made another. And another.
What began as a project for one curious kid gradually grew into My Incredible World: a collection of more than 400 nonfiction books about animals, wildlife, nature, science, and the world around us. Since 2018, more than 100,000 My Incredible World books have been sold to families, educators, schools, libraries, nature centers, and other curious readers.
That original experience still shapes what we create today. Kids often develop deep interests in very specific subjects, whether it's roosters, sharks, frogs, owls, insects, a favorite place, or something they just discovered. We want them to be able to find a book that meets that curiosity with real photographs, engaging information, and a clear introduction to the subject.
With hundreds of focused topics to explore, our goal is to help every child find something that makes them want to learn more about the incredible world around them.

How We Create Our Books
My Incredible World books are designed to give children a clear, visual introduction to a subject without overwhelming them.
- Real photography: We use photographs of real animals, plants, places, and natural phenomena so children can see what they're learning about.
- One clear idea at a time: Each page pairs a large photograph with a concise, kid-friendly fact that is easy to understand and talk about.

They're designed to work equally well for a quick read together, independent exploration, a classroom science topic, or a child who wants to read about the same favorite animal again and again.

Why We Do It
We believe curiosity is one of the best ways to build a lasting connection with the natural world.
When children learn to recognize the bird outside their window, understand what a caterpillar becomes, discover why wetlands matter, or see how an animal is adapted to its habitat, the world around them becomes more interesting and meaningful.
